Galileo testing will take place on Tuesday, March 4th and Wednesday, March 5th.
Dear Parents,
As we get close to the field trip deadline, we wanted to check in with those of you that have not turned in permission slips. Please let us know if you are planning on having your student attend the overnight camp at the zoo BY TOMORROW, FRIDAY February 28. We would like to have a better idea of how many students we would be expecting to attend so that we can notify parents who are interested in chaperoning. Also, we have received many questions regarding sleeping arrangements. We currently have 2 buildings reserved to accommodate our group size. The last time we attended the overnight camp, we separated the boys and girls. This year we plan to do the same. Camp hours are from 6:15pm Tuesday evening until 9:00am the following morning. They will receive dinner upon arrival, a late night snack, and breakfast in the morning. Campers must also be able to carry their gear independently to and from the “campsite”. (As a bonus, campers also receive free admission to the zoo for the remainder of the day on Wednesday when camp ends – parents/guardians are responsible for their student at this point.) Please remember that parents/guardians must provide transportation to and from the zoo. Campers MUST be picked up at 9:00am! We will not have transportation for students. In addition, there is no school on Wednesday, April 23 due to teacher planning for ILP conferences. If you have any concerns regarding financial need or any additional questions, please feel free to contact your homeroom teacher. We look forward to hearing from you! The permission slips need to be turned into me by Monday, March 3rd. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to contact Principal Mendoza, or Coach Pearson. Dear ¾ Families,
A letter came home yesterday with your student regarding an overnight zoo trip for the cluster. Here are a few things to know in addition to what was in the letter. Date: Tuesday, April 22 Time: 6:15pm – 9:00am (April 23) Location: Phoenix Zoo – parents and guardians are responsible for dropping off and picking up students AT THE ZOO. The school will not be providing transportation. Cost: $50 per student (includes dinner, late-night snack, and breakfast) Letter to Parents: In our excitement for the next quarter’s summative and objectives, we have planned an upcoming overnight field trip to the Phoenix Zoo on April 22! In order for this to take place and reserve our date, we would require $50 per child by Wednesday, March 5. Students will experience night hikes, desert animal encounters, behind the scenes encounters, dinner that night, breakfast in the morning, and an amazing community building experience for themselves and their classmates! Chaperones: We will also need 8 chaperones per homeroom to attend. The cost for adults is also $50. Due to our size, we must limit the amount of adults in attendance. If you are interested, please return the form below to your student’s homeroom teacher by FRIDAY, February 28. If we have more parents interested than can be accommodated, we will hold a lottery to select the adults that will attend. Please wait to send in money for chaperoning until you have received confirmation of your spot from a ¾ teacher. Chaperones will be responsible for up to ten children. Additional Information: Attached you will find the following information and forms: - Consent and Assumption of Risk Form - Driving Directions to the Zoo - What to Pack - Zoo Map - T-shirt Order form (due Wednesday, March 5) If you have any questions, please email any one of the cluster teachers. Sincerely, ¾ Cluster Academic Enrichment permission slips were sent home yesterday. In order for students to participate they have to return the form. It is scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 27 3:30-5:00pm. It is for KN-6th grade.
Talent show tryouts will be Tuesday, Mar. 4 after school. The talent show will be held on Thursday, Apr. 3 @6pm. Please encourage your student to try out. Watch for a sign up genius for tryouts to be sent out soon. Thank you so very much to all of the parents that came to help out at our Valentine's Day celebration and those that donated items. We appreciate all the work that you do for our cluster!
Just a friendly reminder that there is no school on Monday, February 17th in observance of President's Day. Enjoy your time off!
A note from Mrs. Hardt:
A huge thank you to those who donated used clothing, water, household goods and canned food to our service project for January. The individual who received these items was SO grateful for the warmth and thoughtfulness of our students and families. It is with great pride that I say the donation is from ASU Polytechnic Elementary School. And, even more humbling when the recipient has tears in their eyes. Thank you! We have received many parents that have already volunteered to send in items for our Valentine's party. We are still in need of a few items. Please check out our sign-up to see what we still need!
